Seraphim - Giclee Print (8 x 10)
Reproduction of an original watercolor
In the Christian angelic hierarchy, seraphim are beings of pure light and the highest known rank of angels, and Jewish imagery represented them with human form. Here the seraphim are depicted as moving toward unity, represented by the rotating color wheel. According to St. Thomas Aquinas seraphim means ardor or fire, and Pico della Mirandola in the 15th century refered to the fiery seraphim as the highest models of human aspiration.
