“This painting is inspired by a photograph I took of a Tibetan mother in Ladak where I travelled in 1994. This high altitude region of northern India houses a large Tibetan buddhist population. Tibetan women carry their children in large wicker baskets close to the body during their daily activities, and believe in education through experience”.
