About IDEAL Society

I.D.E.A.L., the Institute for the Development of Education, Arts and Leisure is a not-for-profit Society under the provincial law of British Columbia, Canada.

The I.D.E.A.L. community includes parents, teachers, artists, and other professionals who have been developing a new educational system for the past 25 years. The past 10 years have been dedicated to the practical application of this system.

In May 2004, thanks to the social, humanitarian, ecological and cultural nature of the new educational system, I.D.E.A.L. was designated a Non-Governmental Organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, and was associated in July 2005 with the Department of Public Information at the United Nations.

Specifically, I.D.E.A.L. seeks to

  • communicate a vision of humanity as one family,
  • foster moral, social and aesthetic values through educational programs, art, leisure and travel,
  • establish prenatal and perinatal educational programs, birth centers and youth centers worldwide,
  • initiate local, regional, national and international seminars, artistic, musical and cross-cultural activities,
  • develop a way of life that embraces the laws of nature and respects the earth as a living organism.

  • Beauty is an integral element in the new educational system. At I.D.E.A.L., students of all ages share in creating silk paintings, woodwork, jewelry, stained glass, pottery, sculpture, oil and watercolor paintings. Original theatrical productions and concerts are written and presented by students and visitors. These activities offer the children many and various means of creative expression.

Slavka Kolesar, one of I.D.E.A.L.'s students, was invited by the United Nations to give a solo Art Exhibit in the Secretariat Lobby in May 2004 and 2006.

Natacha Kolesar, Ph.D. Philosophy, has been traveling worldwide for more than 30 years, giving lectures, seminars, TV and radio lectures and interviews.
Natacha Kolesar is the founder of I.D.E.A.L.. She was born in Russia and later immigrated to Czechoslovakia where she received her Ph.D. in Philosophy prior to becoming a university professor. She then lived in France and in the United States before settling in Canada.

“My primary interest has always been the life of human beings and the poetry that we are able to bring to our life. Having lived half of my life in Eastern Europe before moving to Western Europe and then to North America, I have observed that each individual, regardless of culture or race, cultivates particular qualities which blossom like flowers in a garden. It has always been humanity’s greatest minds who contributed to the betterment of society.

One cannot but admire those who have given examples of a better life dedicated to the spirit of man, such as the Collective City of Leon Tolstoy, the Viswa Bharati University of Rabindranath Tagore or Shri Aurobindo’s Auroville in India, and the great pedagogical work of Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov.

What sort of magic enabled these great educators to express these qualities and divine virtues latent within all of us? They had a profound sense of responsibility and commitment and life-long dedication to cultivating all the “seedlings” and potential latent within the human soul. This “magical” energy holding everything together is Love.

The I.D.E.A.L. Institute provides settings where this vision can be realized and where everybody can cultivate his unique qualities, bringing them to fruition and rendering them useful and vibrant for others.”
